Radnor Lake State Park

You may think a place like this could not exist anywhere near Nashville but I’m here to tell you it does and it is one of a kind. One of the many unique perks of this place besides the views is that it has free parking! Radnor Lake State park is a short 20-minute drive from Broadway which makes this place all the better. There are plenty of areas inside the park to take photos including a bridge overlooking the lake which is stunning. I have photographed several one-hour-long sessions at Radnor because it’s so hard to run out of places to photograph here!

Downtown Nashville

This is by far the most public option on this list but downtown Nashville has some of the most beautiful locations to choose from. There are too many spots to add separately so I am going to list some here with pictures!

  1. Pedestrian Bridge
  2. War Memorial
  3. Lower Broadway
  4. Rooftop Parking Garage
  5. Printer’s Alley

Centennial Park

If I could pick a park to shoot at year-round it would be Centennial Park. This place offers SO MANY unique locations including the Parthenon, tons of trees offering shade for those bright summer days, or even the lake which offers a beautiful area to photograph near. Centennial Park also includes free parking! I would recommend shooting here on a weekday if possible as it gets busy on the weekends!

The Gulch

The Gulch is one of my favorite places near downtown Nashville. It’s a place full of restaurants, shopping, the famous “wings” mural, and so much more. With all of that comes tons of spots for your engagement session. I would also recommend having your session here on a weekday vs a weekend as it’s a very popular destination on the weekends!

12 South

A place FULL of opportunities for your engagement session. 12 South is one of the most unique places in Nashville filled with boutiques, great food, and even better coffee (check out White Bison.) I love photographing engagement sessions here because of the vastly different areas of 12 South. You can find bright blue and pink walls, dark and moody alleyways, and a beautiful nature scene right off 12 South called Sevier Park. You can spend an hour or even two here and never run out of locations to shoot at.

War Memorial

Situated in downtown Nashville, the War Memorial is truly magnificent to photograph at. If you are looking for a unique place for your engagement, this is it! The incredible architecture of this building allows you to get super creative and get shots you normally can’t do at other locations. The War Memorial is usually not too busy and parking can be found at the various parking garages close by for a small fee.

Cheekwood

There is a reason there is a fee to photograph here but I pinky promise you it is worth it! Cheekwood is a historical site that sits on 55 acres of beautiful botanical gardens. When I say you could spend HOURS here, I mean it! There are way too many beautiful locations at Cheekwood to list but it ranks close to the top for my favorite places to have your engagement session in Nashville.

Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge

Right outside of Nashville sits Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge which is a must-to go see even if you don’t end up doing your engagement session here! There is nothing like this place as it allows you to walk across the bridge sitting 145 feet off the ground. I would recommend having your engagement session here about an hour before the sun sets because golden hour out here is AMAZING! You will not be disappointed driving out here for your session!
